Wild Adventures Theme Park

This complex includes a variety of rides, animals, and activities. Among the 59 rides offered is the 90 foot high wooden roller coaster, the Frontier Flume, and a six story swing called The Gauntlet. Every spring the Splash Island Water Park opens for swimming. A Safari Train Adventure tours the exotic animal park. Also available are concerts and events featuring name artists who at the All Star Amphitheater. Situated on Old Clyattville Road just north of Clyattville. Phone 229-219-7080.

The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park

This 800 acre privately owned park provides hiking, canoeing, miniature golf, and horseback riding trails. Visitors may bring their own horses and canoes or rent them at the park. The "Suwannee River Jams" at the park's amphitheater attracts musicians from all over the southeast. Located between I75 and I10. From I75 take exit 451 south 4.5 miles. Phone 386-364-1683.

Stephan Foster Folk Culture Center State park

Beautiful anytime of year, this park on the Suwannee River honors composer Stephan Foster. He wrote often melancholy melodies such as Old Folks At Home (Suwannee River), Camptown Races, and My Old Kentucky Home. Despite a short life of just 38 years he is credited with creating 185 songs, hymns, arrangements, and instrumental works. The park museum exhibits Foster,s songs and a 97 bell carillon plays his melodies throughout the day. Craft Square in the park offers demonstrations of such arts as quilting, blacksmithing, and stained glass making. Hiking bicycling, canoeing, and wildlife viewing are popular activities. A highlight every year is the park's Florida Folk Festival held on Memorial Day weekend. The park is off US41 at White Springs. Phone 386-397-2733.
