The Chamber held its annual membership and appreciation dinner on Thursday evening, August 28. After skipping the annual dinner in 2006, we returned in 2007 to honor and appreciate a group of outstanding volunteers, supporters and businesses. This year’s dinner was held at the KOA Campground Music Hall with entertainment provided by the Non-Smoking Band and catered by Shoney’s of Lake Park. Guests also enjoyed a keynote speaker, Ann Smith, a former CPA from Macon who gave a motivating discussion titled “One in a million: Why customers should choose your business.
Former Lake Park Chamber executive director Rhonda Barnes was recognized for her nine years of service with an Outstanding Service Award along with Ron Baker, who was honored as one of the most dedicated volunteers supporting the Chamber. Anne Mann, also a long-time Chamber employee, was presented with flowers in an engraved crystal vase for being Citizen of they Year and was referred to as “The Rock” of the Chamber. Two businesses were recognized at the dinner as Businesses of the Year since no awards were given for 2006. Shoney’s of Lake Park and Prudential ACS Real Estate were both praised for going above and beyond to support the Chamber and its mission.
